A finished thing did not vanish; it followed the paper river into a new ring.

小当归 placed a completed Task in the paper river, expecting it to drift away like a leaf. The next day, the paper had curled into a pale tree ring, with room beside it for another line. More finished things joined it, and the river slowly lengthened. 小当归 sometimes returned to change a sentence or add a detail. Past, it turned out, was not a sealed box. It was one long document that could still breathe and grow.
